* memory: add owner argument to initialization functionsPaolo Bonzini2013-07-041-3/+3

* ahci: Don't allow creating slave drivesKevin Wolf2013-05-081-1/+1
| | | | | | | | An IDE bus provided by AHCI can only take a single IDE drive. If you add a drive as slave, qemu used to accept the command line but the device wouldn't be actually usable. Catch the situation instead and error out. Signed-off-by: Kevin Wolf <kwolf@redhat.com>
* hw: move headers to include/Paolo Bonzini2013-04-081-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | Many of these should be cleaned up with proper qdev-/QOM-ification. Right now there are many catch-all headers in include/hw/ARCH depending on cpu.h, and this makes it necessary to compile these files per-target. However, fixing this does not belong in these patches. * Make all static TypeInfos constAndreas Färber2013-01-101-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Since 39bffca2030950ef6efe57c2fac8327a45ae1015 (qdev: register all types natively through QEMU Object Model), TypeInfo as used in the common, non-iterative pattern is no longer amended with information and should therefore be const. Fix the documented QOM examples: sed -i 's/static TypeInfo/static const TypeInfo/g' include/qom/object.h Since frequently the wrong examples are being copied by contributors of new devices, fix all types in the tree: sed -i 's/^static TypeInfo/static const TypeInfo/g' */*.c sed -i 's/^static TypeInfo/static const TypeInfo/g' */*/*.c This also avoids to piggy-back these changes onto real functional changes or other refactorings. * Rename target_phys_addr_t to hwaddrAvi Kivity2012-10-231-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | target_phys_addr_t is unwieldly, violates the C standard (_t suffixes are reserved) and its purpose doesn't match the name (most target_phys_addr_t addresses are not target specific). Replace it with a finger-friendly, standards conformant hwaddr. Outstanding patchsets can be fixed up with the command git rebase -i --exec 'find -name "*.[ch]" | xargs s/target_phys_addr_t/hwaddr/g' origin Signed-off-by: Avi Kivity <avi@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Anthony Liguori <aliguori@us.ibm.com>

| * pci: convert PCIUnregisterFunc to voidAlex Williamson2012-07-041-3/+1

* qom: Unify type registrationAndreas Färber2012-02-151-2/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Replace device_init() with generalized type_init(). While at it, unify naming convention: type_init([$prefix_]register_types) Also, type_init() is a function, so add preceding blank line where necessary and don't put a semicolon after the closing brace. * qdev: register all types natively through QEMU Object ModelAnthony Liguori2012-02-031-6/+8
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This was done in a mostly automated fashion. I did it in three steps and then rebased it into a single step which avoids repeatedly touching every file in the tree. The first step was a sed-based addition of the parent type to the subclass registration functions. The second step was another sed-based removal of subclass registration functions while also adding virtual functions from the base class into a class_init function as appropriate. Finally, a python script was used to convert the DeviceInfo structures and qdev_register_subclass functions to TypeInfo structures, class_init functions, and type_register_static calls. We are almost fully converted to QOM after this commit. Signed-off-by: Anthony Liguori <aliguori@us.ibm.com>

* isa-bus: Remove bogus IRQ sharing checkJan Kiszka2011-02-211-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | Nothing prevented IRQ sharing on the ISA bus in principle. Not all boards supported this, neither each and every card nor driver and OS. Still, there existed valid IRQ sharing scenarios, (at least) two of them can also be found in QEMU: >2 PC UARTs and the PREP IDE buses. So remove this artificial restriction from our ISA model. * ide: Register vm change state handler once onlyStefan Hajnoczi2010-12-171-10/+24
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | We register the vm change state handler in a PCI BAR map() function. This function can be called multiple times throughout the lifetime of a PCI IDE device. This results in duplicate vm change state handlers being register, none of which are ever unregistered. Instead, register the vm change state handler in the device's init function once and for all. piix tested, cmd646 and via not tested. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The file, vt82c686.c, was added after the change set of b80d4a9887fa4b6cc63f8c3a13ab2a45054d3e5c and fecb93c45c749a4c994d8d12bdee17ce2012de9e are created, but before the patch series was commit. * qemu_ram_alloc: Add DeviceState and name parametersAlex Williamson2010-07-061-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | These will be used to generate unique id strings for ramblocks. The name field is required, the device pointer is optional as most callers don't have a device. When there's no device or the device isn't a child of a bus implementing BusInfo.get_dev_path, the name should be unique for the platform.
