This patch collects comments and documentation changes from many commits
in the python-qemu-qmp repository; bringing the qemu.git copy in
bit-identical alignment with the standalone library *except* for several
copyright messages that reference the "LICENSE" file which is, for QEMU,
named "COPYING" instead and are therefore left unchanged.

Use a shorter name. We are going to move in iotests from qmp() to
command() where possible. But command() is longer than qmp() and don't
look better. Let's rename.
You can simply grep for '\.command(' and for 'def command(' to check
that everything is updated (command() in tests/docker/docker.py is
unrelated).

We just want to ignore failure, so we don't need low level .cmd(). This
helps further renaming .command() to .cmd().

Now that we are fully switched over to the new QMP library, move it back
over the old namespace. This is being done primarily so that we may
upload this package simply as "qemu.qmp" without introducing confusion
over whether or not "aqmp" is a new protocol or not.
The trade-off is increased confusion inside the QEMU developer
tree. Sorry!
Note: the 'private' member "_aqmp" in legacy.py also changes to "_qmp";
not out of necessity, but just to remove any traces of the "aqmp"
name.

We have a replacement for async QMP, but it doesn't have feature parity
yet. For now, then, port the old tool onto the new backend.

All callers in the tree *already* clear the events after a call to
get_events(). Do it automatically instead and update callsites to remove
the manual clear call.
These semantics are quite a bit easier to emulate with async QMP, and
nobody appears to be abusing some emergent properties of what happens if
you decide not to clear them, so let's dial down to the dumber, simpler
thing.
Specifically: callers of clear() right after a call to get_events() are
more likely expressing their desire to not see any events they just
retrieved, whereas callers of clear_events() not in relation to a recent
call to pull_event/get_events are likely expressing their desire to
simply drop *all* pending events straight onto the floor. In the sync
world, this is safe enough; in the async world it's nearly impossible to
promise that nothing happens between getting and clearing the
events.
Making the retrieval also clear the queue is vastly simpler.

The script will be unavailable for a commit or two, which will help
preserve development history attached to the new file. A forwarder will
be added shortly afterwards.
With qmp_shell in the python qemu.qmp package, now it is fully type
checked, linted, etc. via the Python CI. It will be quite a bit harder
to accidentally break it again in the future.
