* python: linter changes for pylint 3.xJohn Snow2024-07-121-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | New bleeding edge versions, new nits to iron out. This addresses the 'check-python-tox' optional GitLab test, while 'check-python-minreqs' saw no regressions, since it's frozen on an older version of pylint. Fixes: qemu/machine/machine.py:345:52: E0606: Possibly using variable 'sock' before assignment (possibly-used-before-assignment) qemu/utils/qemu_ga_client.py:168:4: R1711: Useless return at end of function or method (useless-return) Signed-off-by: John Snow <jsnow@redhat.com> Reviewed-by: Alex Bennée <alex.bennee@linaro.org> Message-id: 20240626232230.408004-2-jsnow@redhat.com Signed-off-by: John Snow <jsnow@redhat.com>
* python/qemu: rename command() to cmd()Vladimir Sementsov-Ogievskiy2023-10-121-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Use a shorter name. We are going to move in iotests from qmp() to command() where possible. But command() is longer than qmp() and don't look better. Let's rename. You can simply grep for '\.command(' and for 'def command(' to check that everything is updated (command() in tests/docker/docker.py is unrelated). * python: support pylint 2.16John Snow2023-02-221-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Pylint 2.16 adds a few new checks that cause the optional check-tox CI job to fail. 1. The superfluous-parens check seems to be a bit more aggressive, 2. broad-exception-raised is new; it discourages "raise Exception". Fix these minor issues and turn the lights green. * python: rename qemu.aqmp to qemu.qmpJohn Snow2022-04-211-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Now that we are fully switched over to the new QMP library, move it back over the old namespace. This is being done primarily so that we may upload this package simply as "qemu.qmp" without introducing confusion over whether or not "aqmp" is a new protocol or not. The trade-off is increased confusion inside the QEMU developer tree. Sorry! Note: the 'private' member "_aqmp" in legacy.py also changes to "_qmp"; not out of necessity, but just to remove any traces of the "aqmp" name. * python: move qmp utilities to python/qemu/utilsJohn Snow2022-01-211-0/+323
In order to upload a QMP package to PyPI, I want to remove any scripts that I am not 100% confident I want to support upstream, beyond our castle walls. Move most of our QMP utilities into the utils package so we can split them out from the PyPI upload.
