* plugins: Add memory hardware address read/write APIRowan Hart2025-07-021-0/+97
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch adds functions to the plugins API to allow plugins to read and write memory via hardware addresses. The functions use the current address space of the current CPU in order to avoid exposing address space information to users. A later patch may want to add a function to permit a specified address space, for example to facilitate architecture-specific plugins that want to operate on them, for example reading ARM secure memory. * plugins: Add memory virtual address write APIRowan Hart2025-07-021-0/+18
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch adds functions to the plugins API to allow reading and writing memory via virtual addresses. These functions only permit doing so on the current CPU, because there is no way to ensure consistency if plugins are allowed to read or write to other CPUs that aren't currently in the context of the plugin. * plugins: Add enforcement of QEMU_PLUGIN_CB flags in register R/W callbacksRowan Hart2025-07-021-0/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch adds functionality to enforce the requested QEMU_PLUGIN_CB_ flags level passed when registering a callback function using the plugins API. Each time a callback is about to be invoked, a thread-local variable will be updated with the level that callback requested. Then, called API functions (in particular, the register read and write API) will call qemu_plugin_get_cb_flags() to check the level is at least the level they require. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | To move the main api.c to a single build compilation object we need to start splitting out user and system specific code. As we need to grob around host headers we move these particular helpers into the *-user mode directories. The binary/start/end/entry helpers are all NOPs for system mode. While using the plugin-api.c.inc trick means we build for both linux-user and bsd-user the BSD user-mode command line is still missing -plugin. * plugins: scoreboard APIPierrick Bouvier2024-03-061-0/+19
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | We introduce a cpu local storage, automatically managed (and extended) by QEMU itself. Plugin allocate a scoreboard, and don't have to deal with how many cpus are launched. This API will be used by new inline functions but callbacks can benefit from this as well. This way, they can operate without a global lock for simple operations. At any point during execution, any scoreboard will be dimensioned with at least qemu_plugin_num_vcpus entries. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | A CPU's TaskState is stored in the CPUState's void *opaque field, accessing which is somewhat awkward due to having to use a cast. * plugins: add an API to read registersAlex Bennée2024-02-281-0/+55
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | We can only request a list of registers once the vCPU has been initialised so the user needs to use either call the get function on vCPU initialisation or during the translation phase. We don't expose the reg number to the plugin instead hiding it behind an opaque handle. For now this is just the gdb_regnum encapsulated in an anonymous GPOINTER but in future as we add more state for plugins to track we can expand it.
