* treewide: remove unnessary "coding" headerPaolo Bonzini2025-10-011-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The "-*- coding: utf-8 -*-" header was needed in Python 2, but in Python 3 UTF-8 is already the default encoding of source files. It is even less necessary in .css files that do not have UTF-8 sequences at all. * scripts: make sure scripts are invoked via $(PYTHON)Paolo Bonzini2023-05-191-0/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | Some scripts are invoked via the first "python3" binary in the PATH, because they are executable and their shebang line is "#! /usr/bin/env python3". To enforce usage of $(PYTHON), make them nonexecutable. Scripts invoked via meson need nothing else, and meson-buildoptions.py is already using $(PYTHON). For probe-gdb-support.py however the invocation in the configure script has to be adjusted. * modules: generates per-target modinfoJose R. Ziviani2022-06-061-14/+35
| | | | | | | | | | | This patch changes the way modinfo is generated and built. Instead of one modinfo.c it generates one modinfo-<target>-softmmu.c per target. It aims a fine-tune control of modules by configuring Kconfig. Signed-off-by: Jose R. * modules: introduces module_kconfig directiveJose R. Ziviani2022-06-061-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | module_kconfig is a new directive that should be used with module_obj whenever that module depends on the Kconfig to be enabled. When the module is enabled in Kconfig we are sure that its dependencies will be enabled as well, thus the module will be loaded without any problem. The correct way to use module_kconfig is by passing the Kconfig option to module_kconfig (or the *config-devices.mak without CONFIG_). Signed-off-by: Jose R. * modules: check if all dependencies can be satisfiedJose R. Ziviani2021-07-091-1/+14
