* hw/arm/aspeed: Move aspeed_load_vbootrom to common SoC codeJamin Lin2025-09-291-0/+25
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Move the vbootrom loader helper into common SoC code so it can be reused by all ASPEED boards, and decouple the API from AspeedMachineState. Specifically: - Move aspeed_load_vbootrom() to hw/arm/aspeed_soc_common.c and declare it in include/hw/arm/aspeed_soc.h. - Change the helper’s signature to take AspeedSoCState * instead of AspeedMachineState *. - Update aspeed_machine_init() call sites accordingly. No functional change. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Move the boot ROM install helper into common SoC code so it can be reused by all ASPEED boards, and decouple the API from AspeedMachineState. Specifically: - Move aspeed_install_boot_rom() to hw/arm/aspeed_soc_common.c and declare it in include/hw/arm/aspeed_soc.h. - Change the helper’s signature to take AspeedSoCState * and a MemoryRegion * provided by the caller, instead of AspeedMachineState *. - Update aspeed_machine_init() call sites accordingly. * hw/arm/aspeed: Move write_boot_rom to common SoC codeJamin Lin2025-09-291-0/+31
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Move the write_boot_rom helper from hw/arm/aspeed.c into hw/arm/aspeed_soc_common.c so it can be reused by all ASPEED machines. Export the API as aspeed_write_boot_rom() in include/hw/arm/aspeed_soc.h and update the existing call site to use the new helper. No functional change. * hw/arm/aspeed: Move aspeed_board_init_flashes() to common SoC codeJamin Lin2025-09-291-0/+23
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Relocate aspeed_board_init_flashes() from hw/arm/aspeed.c into hw/arm/aspeed_soc_common.c so the helper can be reused by all ASPEED machines. The API was already declared in include/hw/arm/aspeed_soc.h; this change moves its implementation out of the machine file to keep aspeed.c cleaner. No functional change. * include/hw/qdev-properties: Remove DEFINE_PROP_END_OF_LISTRichard Henderson2024-12-191-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Now that all of the Property arrays are counted, we can remove the terminator object from each array. Update the assertions in device_class_set_props to match. With struct Property being 88 bytes, this was a rather large form of terminator. Saves 30k from qemu-system-aarch64. * hw/char: Extract serial-mmBernhard Beschow2024-10-031-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | hw/char/serial currently contains the implementation of both TYPE_SERIAL and TYPE_SERIAL_MM. According to serial_class_init(), TYPE_SERIAL is an internal class while TYPE_SERIAL_MM is used by numerous machine types directly. Let's move the latter into its own module which makes the dependencies more obvious and the code more tidy. The includes and the dependencies have been converted mechanically except in the hw/char directories which were updated manually. The result was compile-tested. Now, only hw/char makes direct use of TYPE_SERIAL: # grep -r -e "select SERIAL" | grep -v SERIAL_ hw/char/Kconfig: select SERIAL hw/char/Kconfig: select SERIAL hw/char/Kconfig: select SERIAL hw/char/Kconfig: select SERIAL hw/char/Kconfig: select SERIAL # grep -r -e "/serial\\.h" include/hw/char/serial-mm.h:#include "hw/char/serial.h" hw/char/serial-pci-multi.c:#include "hw/char/serial.h" hw/char/serial.c:#include "hw/char/serial.h" hw/char/serial-isa.c:#include "hw/char/serial.h" hw/char/serial-pci.c:#include "hw/char/serial.h" Tested-by: Andrew Jeffery <andrew@codeconstruct.com.au> Reviewed-by: Mark Cave-Ayland <mark.cave-ayland@ilande.co.uk> Signed-off-by: Bernhard Beschow <shentey@gmail.com> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20240905073832.16222-4-shentey@gmail.com Signed-off-by: Paolo Bonzini <pbonzini@redhat.com>
* aspeed: Introduce a AspeedSoCClass 'boot_from_emmc' handlerCédric Le Goater2024-07-211-0/+7
| | | | | | | | | | | | Report support on the AST2600 SoC if the boot-from-eMMC HW strapping bit is set at the board level. AST2700 also has support but it is not yet ready in QEMU and others SoCs do not have support, so return false always for these. * aspeed: introduce a new UART0 device nameJamin Lin2024-02-271-2/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The Aspeed datasheet refers to the UART controllers as UART1 - UART13 for the ast10x0, ast2600, ast2500 and ast2400 SoCs and the Aspeed ast2700 introduces an UART0 and the UART controllers as UART0 - UART12. To keep the naming in the QEMU models in sync with the datasheet, let's introduce a new UART0 device name and do the required adjustements. * hw/arm/aspeed: Check for CPU types in machine_run_board_init()Philippe Mathieu-Daudé2024-02-011-1/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Aspeed SoCs use a single CPU type (set as AspeedSoCClass::cpu_type). Convert it to a NULL-terminated array (of a single non-NULL element). Set MachineClass::valid_cpu_types[] to use the common machine code to provide hints when the requested CPU is invalid (see commit e702cbc19e ("machine: Improve is_cpu_type_supported()").
